JOHN-RICHARD EXPANDS VIETNAM MANUFACTURING AND DISTRIBUTION OPERATIONS GREENWOOD, Miss. - Luxury home furnishings manufacturer John-Richard is expanding its Vietnam operations less than six months after opening the company’s first manufacturing and distribution facility in the country. In January, John-Richard takes over a factory immediately adjacent to the company’s existing case goods and mirrors manufacturing facility, more than doubling production capacity. The expansion will develop and produce additional product in the John-Richard line. “We anticipate continued and steady growth in our Vietnam operations,” said Alan Galbraith, president of John-Richard. “This expansion allows us to continue shortening the timeline from design concept to final product for a number of our lines, not only for our case goods and mirrors. This is part of a focused, ongoing effort for strategic growth and to better serve our customers.” Galbraith said the additional factory gives John-Richard greater control over quality and delivery as well as the potential for container direct shipments. The present facility employs approximately 150 people, exceeding the initial projection of 65. Galbraith expects those numbers to grow steadily in 2007 as the new plant comes on line. John-Richard’s existing plant production capacity is 10 containers of inventory per month, which will grow steadily in years two and three and even more so with the new plant. John-Richard, which has offices and showrooms in Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas, India, China, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, offers a world of luxurious home furnishings including wall art, furniture, lighting, mirrors, accessories, and botanicals.
